THE ABBEY

The Abbey of Paix Dieu is the former abbey of the nuns of the Order of Cîteaux. The abbey was founded in Amay in Belgium in the thirteenth century. The lunar calendar played at that time an important role in the monastic life.

A splendid renovation began in 1997, bringing, among other things, new life to the Abbey’s old brewery. Today, workshops on the appreciation and development of heritage trades are organised there. That is why the dodecahedron, divine symbol of the golden ratio, became its emblem.

Wishing to continue the brewing tradition of the Abbey, the latter entrusted the brewing of Paix Dieu to Brasserie Caulier.
